Romanticism and Marxist philosophy On Wessell's Karl Marx, Romantic Irony, and the Proletariat:the Mythopoetic Origins of Marxism

Abstract：Wessell argues that Marx' s thought has a romantic mythopoetic essence and Marx' s philosophy, economics, political science benefit from a poetic ideal. Wessell not only re-establishes the ontological paradigm of German romantic poetry, but also fully explores the profound connotation of German romanticism and Marx' s poetry creation as well as the important influence of mythological poetics on the course of Marx' s philosophy. After deeply studying Marx' s important works in different periods, he interprets the essence of mythological poetics behind Marxist scientific thought. Though these astonishing remarks of Wessell have drawn controversial comments in the academic world, they start the series of studies on Marx and romantic poetry, and Marx and irony in philosophical circles.
